John Lindquist

John is one of the founders of egghead.io, and in his talk from VueConf he walks through using vue-rx which combines Vue with the RxJS streaming library.

John starts his talk mentioning a concept called “Perceptual Exposure” from Kathy Sierra’s book called “Badass: Making Users Awesome”. This concept explains that one of the best ways of learning is through experience, perhaps even watching someone else do what you’re trying to learn.

In his talk he first creates a countdown timer / alarm clock using vue-rx which you can snooze and hit dismiss to stop it functioning.

In his second streaming example he loads an image from a server using a stream, and shows how to deal with errors when server goes down.

Lastly he shows how to create tabs which dynamically load content using streams.

All of his demos and more can be viewed here.
